Low Testosterone
Low testosterone can stem from more than aging. We investigate insulin resistance, sleep apnea, nutrient deficiencies, stress, and toxin exposure as modifiable causes.
Symptoms
Low energy, reduced libido, muscle loss, increased body fat, mood changes, and decreased recovery.
Causes and risk
Obesity, insulin resistance, sleep disorders, chronic stress, zinc and vitamin D deficiency, and endocrine disruptors.
How it is evaluated
Total and free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, LH, FSH, metabolic markers, and sleep and lifestyle assessment.
Treatment
Address modifiable causes first (sleep, weight, stress, nutrients). Testosterone replacement when root-cause interventions are insufficient.
